Ms. Brenda Wollman Hauff

I am a mom, friend, educator and yes a tech geek. I loved school as a kid, which is surprising looking back because I struggled in school. I had several bad teachers that told me things like you will never amount to anything but flipping burgers at Burger King, to a 3rd grade teacher Miss Serk. Who was amazing! She found ways to engage me and take me under her wing. At that time we were ability grouped for most things. I remember in reading I was the only girl in my group and it was not easy, I was picked on a lot. But Miss Serk found ways for me to practice reading. She ordered books from the Blind Association Library so my dad could read to me. What and how teachers treat you can stick with you for the rest of your life no matter if it is positive or negative, choose to be a POSITIVE influence in all students lives. Even if you can't see what their passion is yet, help them find it. My strengths was not academics, not how academics was presented to me when I was in school. Then when I went to college for my undergraduate I figured out with some hard work I could catch up with my peers. I graduated with my undergrad in 1996. I started my family and worked in a few schools when I decided to make my biggest change in my professional career. I decided to get my Masters in Technology Training and Development. Who knew in 1991 when I purchased my first computer that ran Windows 3.1 that my grandpa's funds to do this would make a difference in my life forever. After graduating with my Masters in technology our family moved to Wichita KS for a job teaching computers and the Passion of helping teachers integrating technology in their classes where their nitch is Reading, Math, etc... started. Continue to read my blog and website to find out how I can help you.

Grandma and Grandpa Dangel

Grandpa's Legacy

I was born in Freeman, SD. My parents lived in Yankton, SD but at that time it was common to go to a smaller town for the birth of your child due to cost. My dad was from the Freeman area. My mom was in a tragic car accident shortly after I was born and I spent a lot of time with family and my grandpa Dangel. I tell you about this because I feel he is one of the reasons I have been able to follow my dreams. My grandpa past away in 1990, and from that I received a gift from him, just enough money to buy my first computer. I felt extremely guilty at the time, I felt like I should buy something that was going to be with me for ever, well little did I know at the time that it would be... The skills I learned and Passion for technology and students will be with me forever. Thanks grandpa for making that possible.
